This wall piece presents a small scene from Tivoli\u2019s famous Pantomime Theatre. The motif shows the colourful theatre building together with three of the classic characters from the pantomime tradition.<\/p>\n
At the top of the motif stands the theatre itself with its distinctive oriental appearance. The building is embroidered in bright colours and filled with small decorative details. The golden roofs and ornamental elements give the scene a festive atmosphere.<\/p>\n
On each side of the theatre small trees appear, forming a simple frame around the building and creating balance within the composition. At the same time they emphasise the theatre\u2019s location within Tivoli\u2019s garden setting.<\/p>\n
In front of the stage stand three characters from the pantomime: Harlequin, Columbine and Pierrot. Harlequin appears in his colourful costume holding his characteristic baton, while Columbine stands beside him in her distinctive dress.<\/p>\n
On the other side stands Pierrot in his light costume. The three figures hold hands and form a small scene in front of the theatre. Their simple shapes give the motif a playful and almost fairytale-like expression.<\/p>\n
The embroidery is worked in cross stitch with Danish Flower Thread on linen. The fine stitches highlight both the architectural details of the theatre and the distinctive costumes of the characters. The result is a charming embroidery inspired by Danish theatre tradition.<\/p>\n
