For Tanja Dinesen Skudstrup, her interest in embroidery began during childhood summers with her grandmother Marie in Havndal. Here, she learned not only to guide needle and thread through fabric. She also learned the value of slow craftsmanship, the knowledge held in the hands and the stories that can be passed on from generation to generation.

The landscape around the small city Havndal in Denmark and her family’s long-standing connection to the area have left clear traces in her creative work. Some places become part of our history and the way we see the world.
