Blue birds – bell pull – Gerda Bengtsson (GB)

This bell pull features a charming embroidery of small blue birds resting among winding branches and flowers. The motif is arranged as a vertical composition, where the elements repeat in a calm rhythm down through the entire embroidery.

Along the narrow bell pull runs a vine of green branches with small leaves. The branches gently wind from side to side, creating a lively structure throughout the design. Between the leaves appear small flowers in bright red tones that add delicate accents of colour along the vine.

Perched on the branches are the small blue birds. Each bird is embroidered in deep blue shades and placed in different positions, with some facing left and others facing right. This variation gives the motif a natural movement and a sense of life within the composition.

The birds appear as quiet moments within the flowing movement of the vine, resting between the leaves and blossoms. The combination of blue birds, green branches and red flowers creates a harmonious and decorative expression.

The embroidery is worked in cross stitch with Danish Flower Thread on linen. The fine stitches highlight both the shape of the birds and the delicate branches surrounding them. As a bell pull, the embroidery becomes an elegant decorative element for the wall, where the vertical format emphasises the rhythm and balance of the design.
