Fugleunger – wall piece – Katja Bie (KB)
"Fugleunger" (Nestlings) – wall piece – Katja Bie (KB) is a nature motif centred on care and movement. An adult bird is shown feeding two young birds perched side by side on a branch. The nestlings sit with open beaks, turned towards the adult bird.
The composition is dynamic yet balanced. The bird spreads its wings above the young, creating a protective gesture. The branch and surrounding leaves form a soft frame around the scene. The colour palette moves through green and olive tones, with subtle contrasts in the beaks and feet.
Danish Flower Thread gives the embroidery a dense and vibrant surface. Linen 10B from Haandarbejdets Fremme highlights the structure of the stitches and the fine detailing.
The motif has been developed in collaboration with Haandarbejdets Fremme and is embroidered on Linen 10B from Haandarbejdets Fremme. The fabric’s structure supports the detailed cross stitches and gives the embroidery a clear and precise expression.
The design combines close observation of nature with simple form and functions as an atmospheric wall piece.
