Georginer – wall piece – Gerda Bengtsson (GB)
"Georginer" (Dahlias) – wall piece – Gerda Bengtsson (GB) is a small botanical embroidery featuring a colourful bouquet of dahlias arranged in a blue jug. The individual flowers turn in different directions, creating a lively and light composition.
The flowers appear in red, yellow and purple tones with green leaves between them. The colours stand clearly against the light background and give the motif a fresh and decorative expression. The blue jug gathers the bouquet and provides balance in the composition.
The motif is composed with a simple and natural structure, allowing each flower to stand out clearly. Small details in the flower heads and leaves give the embroidery life and variation.
The embroidery is stitched with Danish Flower Thread, which provides clear colours and a distinct stitch definition. The yarn highlights the fine details in the flowers and gives the motif character.
The design was developed for Haandarbejdets Fremme and is embroidered on Linen 10B from Haandarbejdets Fremme. The fabric structure provides precise stitch definition and suits the small details of the motif.
