Haandarbejdets Fremme (HF) – Calendar 2011

The Year In Cross Stitch 2011

Haandarbejdets Fremme (HF) – Calendar 2011 presents The Year In Cross Stitch 2011, designed by Lisbeth Roum-Møller. The calendar contains 12 embroidery motifs developed from decorative details found in architecture and ornamentation.

The designs are based on classical ornaments and architectural decoration, translated into cross stitch with a focus on structure and repetition. The expression is graphic and balanced, with clear lines and a well-defined composition.

Each motif can be embroidered as an individual design. At the same time, the elements can be combined and varied, allowing for further development in personal projects. Sections can be adjusted, shapes repeated or new compositions created.

The embroidery is worked in cross stitch, resulting in a uniform and calm surface. The technique suits the geometric forms well and makes it easy to explore variation. The calendar encourages experimentation with both colour and composition.

The publication includes inspirational photographs of finished pieces, showing how the motifs can be used across different applications, from smaller projects to larger textiles.

The calendar is multilingual, with text in Danish, English and German, making it accessible to a wide audience.
