Nisser i hjerte - table runner - Ingrid Plum (IP)
"Nisser i hjerte" (Pixies in Hearts) - table runner - Ingrid Plum (IP) is an embroidery kit with a cosy Christmas motif repeated at both ends of the runner. Two Pixies stand close together around a small fir tree. Red and white heart shapes, blue details and small golden stars complete the motif.
The centre section is left free of embroidery. This creates a calm appearance on the table and provides plenty of space for Christmas decorations, candles, dishes and tableware. At the same time, the embroidery remains clearly visible at the ends of the table runner.
The motif is embroidered with Danish Flower Thread on Haandarbejdets Fremme linen 7B. The finished table runner measures 24 x 80 cm.
Two Pixies gathered around the fir tree
At each end of the table runner are two Pixies wearing their characteristic red hats. They face one another and form a small symmetrical Christmas motif.
The Pixies’ faces peek out from beneath their large hats. Blue details at the shoulders and arms create a clear contrast with the red and white colours.
Between the Pixies stands a small green fir tree. The tree is decorated with small light and golden details and forms the natural focal point of the motif.
Beneath the tree is a small golden star or ornament. It adds warmth and brings together the green, blue and red colours.
Red and white hearts give the motif character
At the bottom of the motif are the large red and white shapes that give the table runner its distinctive appearance. The checked sections bring to mind traditional woven Christmas hearts.
The colours are simple and clear. Red and white create a classic Danish Christmas character, while the dark blue adds depth. The small green fir tree and golden details provide variation.
The motif has a clear symmetrical structure. This suits the narrow format of the table runner well and makes the two embroidered ends feel like natural finishing points.
Embroidery at both ends – calm in the centre
The table runner measures 24 x 80 cm. The embroidery is positioned at both ends, while the long centre section remains unembroidered.
This makes the runner practical for the Christmas table. Plates, bowls or decorations can be placed in the centre without covering the most important parts of the motif.
When the runner is placed on a dining table or coffee table, the Pixies are visible from both ends. This creates a pleasing balance and makes the design decorative from several angles.
The unembroidered linen also gives the eye a pause between the two motifs. The result is festive without feeling overcrowded.
Danish Flower Thread on linen 7B
The embroidery is stitched with Danish Flower Thread. The thread gives the red, blue, green and golden shades a soft and classic appearance.
The fabric is Haandarbejdets Fremme linen 7B. Its distinct linen structure suits the simple shapes of the motif and gives the table runner a traditional textile character.
The natural-coloured background works beautifully with the clear Christmas colours. At the same time, the Pixies, hearts and fir tree stand out clearly.
Ingrid Plum’s Christmas universe
With Pixies in Hearts, Ingrid Plum has created a motif that brings together several classic Christmas symbols. Pixies, a fir tree, stars and red and white hearts are combined in a simple composition.
The motif has both humour and tradition, while the colour palette keeps the overall expression calm. This makes the table runner suitable for bringing out again year after year.
Haandarbejdets Fremme is known for embroidery kits with fine materials and designs with a strong connection to Danish needlework tradition. Pixies in Hearts - table runner - Ingrid Plum (IP) is an embroidery kit for those who love classic Christmas, Pixies and hand-embroidered table decorations.
