Tulipan – wall piece – Gerda Bengtsson (GB)

Tulip – wall piece – Gerda Bengtsson (GB) is a small botanical embroidery with a simple and decorative arrangement. A tulip with green leaves stands in a blue jug together with delicate branched twigs carrying small buds.

The motif is composed in a light and airy manner. The thin branches spread out from the jug and create a fine contrast to the more defined form of the tulip. The blue jug provides a calm visual anchor within the composition.

The colours are clear and harmonious. The red and pink tones of the tulip contrast with the green leaves and the blue jug, while the small buds on the branches add subtle details to the motif.

The embroidery is stitched with Danish Flower Thread, which produces clear stitches and bright colours. The yarn highlights the small details in both the flower and the delicate branches.

The design was developed for Haandarbejdets Fremme and is embroidered on Linen 12B from Haandarbejdets Fremme. The fine fabric structure gives the embroidery precise stitch definition and suits the small details of the motif.
