Bybilled – wall piece – Ida Winckler (IW)

"Cityscape" is a compact wall piece in which Ida Winckler creates a lively, graphic slice of urban life. The motif consists of closely set houses with pronounced roofs, windows arranged in repeating patterns, and green trees that break up the surface and add rhythm. The overall impression is playful yet well ordered.

The composition is conceived as a unified urban space without a horizon line. Buildings overlap to form a dense, surface-filling structure, guiding the eye from one house to the next. Repeated window shapes establish a clear rhythm, while variations in colour and height introduce movement and vitality.

The colour palette is warm and balanced. Red, yellow, and pink roofs contrast with subdued façades in grey and sand tones. The green trees act as calm pauses within the composition and help bind the city elements together. Danish Flower Thread lends depth and a soft, matte quality to the colours, supporting the graphic expression.

Linen 10B provides a stable, calm ground that highlights the clear forms and the precision of the stitches. The fabric’s texture contributes to a classic, handcrafted feel that suits the motif’s architectural character.

Cityscape functions as a small, self-contained wall piece with strong visual impact. It works well on its own or as part of a series. For retailers, the design fits naturally into collections of modern, graphic embroidery and Danish design, with a format that is easy to display and combine with other wall pieces.
