Roser i kurv – wall piece – Gerda Bengtsson (GB)
"Roser i kurv" (Roses in basket) – wall piece – Gerda Bengtsson (GB) is a small botanical embroidery featuring a basket filled with blooming roses. The pink flowers sit closely among green leaves and delicate branches, forming a full bouquet.
The motif is structured around the woven basket, which creates a calm foundation for the composition. Above the edge of the basket the flowers spread outward to the sides, creating a soft and harmonious arrangement.
The colours are warm and balanced. The pink roses stand out clearly against the green leaves and the golden tones of the basket, while the light background highlights the fine details of the motif.
The embroidery is stitched with Danish Flower Thread, which provides clear colours and a distinct stitch definition. The structure of the thread allows the flowers, leaves and woven basket pattern to be rendered with precision.
The design was developed for Haandarbejdets Fremme and is embroidered on Linen 10B from Haandarbejdets Fremme. The fabric’s structure provides a precise stitch definition in which the botanical details of the motif appear clearly.
