"Tagetes" (Marigolds) in basket – wall piece – Gerda Bengtsson (GB) is a small botanical embroidery featuring a basket filled with blooming marigolds. The round flowers in red and yellow tones appear densely among green leaves and delicate branches.
The motif is structured around the woven basket, which forms a stable base for the flowers. Above the basket’s edge the leaves and blossoms spread outward to the sides, creating a full and lively composition.
The colours are warm and strongly contrasted. The red and yellow flowers are highlighted by the green leaves and the warm tone of the basket, while the light background provides clarity and balance to the motif.
