Skyrrække – wall piece – Gerda Bengtsson (GB)

This wall piece shows a tree with a full and rounded crown. The motif is embroidered as a botanical study in which the trunk, branches and foliage are rendered with great detail.

The sturdy trunk rises from the ground and divides into several strong branches. These branches further divide into a dense network of thinner twigs, together forming a broad and lively crown.

Along the branches appear countless small leaves embroidered in different shades of green. The colours range from light spring greens to deeper tones, giving the tree depth and movement.

The crown spreads outward to the sides and forms an almost circular shape. The leaves lie closely together, yet small openings between the branches remain visible, giving the motif a light and natural appearance.

At the base of the tree a small strip of grass marks the transition between the ground and the trunk. This simple detail anchors the composition and brings balance to the design.

The embroidery is worked in cross stitch with Danish Flower Thread on linen. The many fine stitches render the bark, branches and leaves with precision. The finished embroidery becomes a classic wall piece with a natural motif that works beautifully as wall decoration.
