"Tempeltræ" Pagoda tree – wall piece – Gerda Bengtsson (GB) is a botanical embroidery in which the tree’s characteristic form stands at the centre of the motif. The crown consists of light, drooping branches and fine leaves that give the tree an airy and natural appearance.
The motif is built around a clearly defined trunk from which the branches spread outward in several layers. Numerous small leaves create a lively structure that adds depth and movement to the embroidery.
The colours appear in green tones in the foliage, while the trunk is rendered in darker shades. The light background gives the motif a calm appearance and highlights the tree’s form and details.
The embroidery is stitched with Danish Flower Thread, which provides clear colours and a distinct stitch definition. The structure of the thread makes it possible to render the many fine leaves and branches with precision.
The design was developed for Haandarbejdets Fremme and is embroidered on Linen 10B from Haandarbejdets Fremme. The fabric’s structure gives the embroidery a distinctive character and allows the botanical details of the motif to appear clearly.
