Tusindfryd – cushion – Vibeke Olris (VO)
This cushion is decorated with a dense field of embroidered daisies. The many flowers lie side by side, creating a lively and decorative pattern.
Each flower has a round golden centre surrounded by light petals. The white petals spread outward in a circle, forming a clear contrast to the warm yellow centres. The combination gives the motif a bright and summery expression.
Between the flowers small leaves and stems appear in green and slightly bluish tones. These subtle details connect the blossoms and create rhythm within the design, while adding variation to the dense composition.
The flowers repeat across the entire surface of the cushion, giving the embroidery an almost wallpaper-like effect. The result is a harmonious pattern where the eye can move naturally from flower to flower.
The embroidery is worked in cross stitch with Danish Flower Thread on linen. The clearly defined stitches emphasise the flower shapes and give the motif texture and structure. The finished embroidery becomes a decorative cushion with a fresh and classic floral expression.
