Vortebirk – wall piece – Gerda Bengtsson (GB)

"Silver Birch" – wall piece – Gerda Bengtsson (GB) is a botanical wall piece in which Gerda Bengtsson portrays Betula pendula in a calm and balanced double motif. Two slender birch trees stand side by side, forming a harmonious whole. The fine, drooping branches and the small, triangular leaves with serrated edges give the crown a light and gently moving expression.

The composition is simple and symmetrical without appearing rigid. The two trunks create a clear vertical structure, while the hanging branches soften the design with their gentle curves. A green ground anchors the trees and adds visual weight to the motif.

The colour palette ranges from light spring greens to deeper green tones. The characteristic pale trunks with darker markings emphasise the distinctive nature of the species. The contrast between the fresh foliage and the cool greyish tones of the trunks creates depth.

Danish Flower Thread provides a matte and lively surface that supports the fine transitions in the foliage. The nuanced shades of the thread create variation within the crown without disturbing the overall harmony. The linen from Haandarbejdets Fremme adds natural texture and enhances the motif’s classic expression.

The format makes the wall piece suitable for smaller wall spaces as well as part of a series featuring other Nordic tree species. For retailers, Silver Birch is a strong and recognisable motif with botanical precision and timeless appeal.
