Fanø – wall piece – Ida Winckler (IW) is an architectural embroidery featuring a classic Fanø house. The long building with a thatched roof, red façades and green doors is rendered in a simple and recognisable form.
The motif highlights the characteristic features of the island’s traditional architecture. The many small windows, the centrally placed entrance and the low shrubs in front of the house create a calm and balanced composition. The colour palette moves between warm red tones, deep green shades and the dark thatched roof.
The embroidery is stitched with Danish Flower Thread, which provides clear colours and a distinct stitch structure. Darker outlines emphasise the building’s shapes and architectural details.
