Living lines in a graphic expression
K1:11 cushion is a light and poetic embroidery design created by Renée Rudebrant. With simple crisscrossing lines, she has created a graphic pattern that appears open and lively, despite the otherwise angular and systematic structure of cross stitch.
Format and materials that give peace
The cushion measures approx. 40 × 40 cm and is embroidered on natural white linen (10.5 threads/cm) with Appleton wool. The structure and fullness of the materials give the embroidery clarity and lightness at the same time. The back is made of black cotton canvas, which creates a calm ending and supports the graphic expression on the front.
When silence becomes form
The inspiration for K1:11 arose on a day when nothing special happened. Renée Rudebrant drew a few lines on a piece of paper and let the process continue without a fixed plan. She says that along the way she sat and wondered where the lines would take her.
It was this open and exploratory approach that ended up becoming the basis for the K1:11 cushion. The vibrant lines are embroidered in cross stitch and create an exciting contrast between the free, almost spontaneous expression and the strict technique.
A light graphic design with thoughtfulness
The K1:11 cushion is aimed at embroiderers and retailers who are looking for a graphic design with lightness and reflection, made of quality materials and with a clear story about how even silence can become form.
