P1:2 - bag - by renée

P1:2 - bag - by renée is a decorative cross-stitch embroidery kit, designed by Swedish designer Renée Rudebrant. The black-and-white motif is built around the square as its basic form. The squares are connected by vertical lines and filled in different ways, creating a lively graphic pattern. The finished bag measures 20 × 29 cm and is suitable for storing yarn, embroidery accessories or smaller needlework projects.

In the lower part of the design, the squares sit closely together and form a striking patterned border. From here, individual squares continue up across the light linen in long vertical rows. Some are completely filled with black cross stitches, while others have open fields, checks or simple forms in the centre. The variations create rhythm and movement, even though the design uses only one thread colour.

The black embroidery stands in clear contrast to the light linen. This gives the P1:2 bag a simple and characterful expression, highlighting both the individual cross stitches and the geometric structure of the pattern.

Cross stitch with Appleton wool yarn

The motif is embroidered in cross stitch with black Appleton wool yarn. The wool yarn gives the stitches a full and slightly lively surface, which suits the graphic squares and the dense border at the bottom of the bag well. The combination of soft wool yarn and precise geometric forms creates an interesting contrast in the finished embroidery.

The embroidery is stitched on Haandarbejdets Fremme linen 10B. The natural structure of the linen is visible between the stitches and contributes to the handmade expression of the bag. The black yarn stands out clearly against the light background, while the open areas of the pattern allow the linen to become an active part of the design.

Once the cross-stitch motif is finished, the embroidery is made up into a bag with a drawstring closure. The finished result is therefore not just a decorative embroidery, but a practical storage bag that can be used again and again.
