P1:6 - bag - by renée is a decorative cross-stitch embroidery kit, designed by Swedish designer Renée Rudebrant. The motif combines large, graphically interpreted roses with narrow vertical lines that bring to mind flower stems with small thorns. The entire pattern is embroidered with red Danish Flower Thread on light linen, giving the bag a simple and striking expression.

The lower part of the design is filled with large roses and leaves. The roses are built up of dense cross stitches and open areas, allowing the light linen to form the inner lines and details of the flower. The different placements and cropped forms make the flowers continue across the surface of the bag and create a cohesive patterned border.

Above the roses, the motif continues with long vertical lines. Small angles break up the straight lines and give them an organic character. The contrast between the large flower forms and the simple lines creates balance and makes the pattern interesting without using many colours.

The rose as a classic embroidery motif

The rose is a well-known motif in cross-stitch embroidery and appears in many different forms and colour shades. Here, Renée Rudebrant has created her own graphic interpretation, where the flower’s characteristic layers and petals are simplified into clear surfaces and lines.

The classic red colour highlights the connection to traditional rose embroidery. At the same time, the modern pattern and simple bag shape give the project a contemporary expression. The result is a decorative storage bag where traditional cross stitch meets graphic design.

Cross stitch with Danish Flower Thread

The motif is embroidered with red Danish Flower Thread. The matt surface of the thread gives the stitches a natural expression and allows the forms of the pattern to stand out clearly. Because the design uses only one colour, variation is created through dense stitched surfaces, open areas and changing line sequences.

The embroidery is stitched on Haandarbejdets Fremme linen 10B. The visible structure of the fabric becomes an active part of the motif and gives the unembroidered areas an important function. The light linen also creates a clear contrast to the red thread.

Complete embroidery kit with finishing materials

P1:6 - bag - by renée contains the materials you need for the embroidery and the subsequent finishing. You receive linen, Danish Flower Thread, needle, instructions and finishing materials.

Once the embroidery is finished, it is made up into a bag with a drawstring closure. The finished bag measures 25 × 33 cm and can be used for yarn, embroidery accessories or smaller needlework projects, among other things.
